This month, one of the Women’s Saving Club gals put forth “sell something” as our monthly challenge.
To date, all our challenges have previously revolved around saving money here and there, not buying this or that, tucking away your wallet. But what if we simply earned more? Ok, scratch the “simply.” I know it’s hard. But if we all earned more, we could save AND spend more. (Obviously.) So there has to be a way to make it easier, right?
Hmm. Sell something…
Thus far, one of our ladies has sold clothes in a consignment shop, netting $22.
Another one of our gals sells wine charms online.
There’s also the option to ask for a raise. Which, considering the economy, may be a very challenging (and creative) task.
What about a garage sale, now that it’s summer. Is it worth it?
One of us also recently engaged a house-cleaning service. Besides using the extra time to relax some and spend more time with the family, could that “saved” time be used to earn more money? Or is that a really stressful way to look at the time you just saved?
So what else is there? How are you going to try to earn more money? Do you have time to try to earn more money? What’s stopping you? Have you asked for a raise lately and gotten it? What’s your secret?
And I suppose it all comes down to…What are you saving for? What are you trying to earn more money for?
